LinkWell sits between a physician's exam room and the specialist they're referring a patient to. It listens to the visit, drafts the clinical note, files the referral, and chases down the prior authorization paperwork — so the referral is already moving before the physician has finished typing.
The Business Challenge We Solved
Referring a patient to a specialist usually means a physician writes up notes after the fact, staff manually track down prior authorization forms per insurer, and everyone waits on paperwork before a patient can even get an appointment — all while the physician's real EHR data sits in a separate system nobody's syncing with.
The Technical Solution We Delivered
We built an AI scribe that transcribes and diarizes the visit in real time and drafts a structured SOAP note using GPT-4o, paired with a referral and scheduling system that pulls live patient data straight from AthenaHealth. Prior authorization forms are matched to the specific procedure and insurer and auto-filled as PDFs, and a coding assistant learns each physician's CPT/ICD-10 habits to speed up future notes — all behind HIPAA-grade audit logging and PHI-aware security middleware.
